TESTIMONIALS:
"My favorite part of this workshop was walking away each week with a new lens -- I saw my songs, as well as countless classics, in a way I had never considered before. Suddenly, I was listening to the music I love with new ears. This approach reinvigorated my love of songwriting, problem solving, and listening. It was eye-opening to be in a community of like-minded people with a broad spectrum of influences and experiences. I couldn’t believe the songs people were writing from week to week. Putting our heads together helped me shed some fears around the blank page, and broke down my preconceived notions of what songwriting can be. Greta’s whole-hearted approach to teaching left me feeling held and challenged every week and I’ll carry her teachings with me always." - Cassandra Jenkins (recent record: "My Light, My Destroyer") Review of WRITING YOUR RECORD Class
“Greta is a master at marrying the magical and intuitive processes of writing with the technical tools and rules of the craft. She teaches both how to listen to your innermost voice, and how to use tangible, tried-and-true techniques to express it. I was new to songwriting when I took my first workshop with her, and she created a comfortable, fun space to explore. She meets her students exactly where they are and gives her whole presence in helping them create authentic work. No matter where you are on your writing or songwriting journey, Greta's technical knowledge and heart-centered approach to mentoring are very special." - Jade W
"Greta Morgan is a uniquely gifted songwriter and educator. Her impassioned approach to teaching is soulful and stirring, while remaining grounded and pragmatic. I highly recommend any of Greta’s courses to anyone who is curious about music, or developing their writing skills." - Nicole Lawrence (Songwriter + Guitarist with Coldplay, Jenny Lewis, Devendra Banhart, King Tuff)
"It is a special moment when you enter a workshop feeling lost and intimidated, and walk away empowered to write all day. Greta guides participants through a unique blend of inner soul-searching with writing tricks, prompts, and exercises. This is where Greta shines as an instructor: While she has irreplaceable insight into songwriting and the music industry as a whole, she also teaches the sacredness of songwriting. She teaches how to treat your songs with respect as you freewrite, visualize, soft-rhyme, hard-rhyme, create metaphors and similes, and fine-tune your way to a song you are proud of. -Andrew W.
Greta’s workshops are an unmissable experience for anyone on a journey to unlock their personal brand of creativity. -Joey W
I love how she encourages writers to think outside the box and explore the world around them (big or small) for inspiration, all while staying true to themselves and their own style. I have followed Greta’s career for 15+ years, and can say with complete sincerity that there is no one I trust more for songwriting guidance and mentorship! -Amanda K
As a writer and vocalist, I have always been drawn to the idea of writing my own songs. However, I often felt my limited musical knowledge would forever prevent me from making songwriting a reality. Greta Morgan's workshop gave me the space to abandon the constraints of music theory and my inner critic––for good. Greta's nurturing and holistic approach to songwriting allows songwriters at all levels to flourish. Whether you're learning how to sow (song)seeds or growing a garden full of songs, Greta is there every step of the way to help you reap the benefits of your own creativity. -Ashley G
It’s almost impossible to get “writer’s block” if you use Greta’s techniques. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve arrived at a session thinking I had nothing to say and left with a completed song. I can't say enough about how much she’s helped me grow. - Rachel R.
