About Greta Morgan
About Your Creative Mentor
Greta Morgan is a celebrated songwriter and author of the memoir The Lost Voice (HarperOne, 2025) and the forthcoming Searching for a Love Song (HarperOne, 2028).
Prior to focusing on prose, Greta built a nearly two-decade music career — beginning when she was signed to her first record deal as a teenager — as a songwriter behind The Hush Sound, Springtime Carnivore, and Gold Motel. She was a touring member of Vampire Weekend (2018-2022) and a composer of dozens of songs for ad campaigns, film, and hit TV series like Nashville, Grey's Anatomy, House, Shameless, 13 Reasons Why, and many more. You can listen to a sampling of her original songs and co-writes here.
In 2020, she was diagnosed with spasmodic dysphonia, a neurological voice disorder with no known cure, which dramatically altered her singing voice. Since then, she has redirected her creative practice toward writing, teaching, meditation, and connecting with the natural world.
Her work has recently been profiled in Forbes, The Creative Independent, Talkhouse, No Depression Magazine, Elevated Outdoors, Northern Transmissions, and she recently guested on TedX’s “How to Be a Better Human podcast.
